Move to the cloud instead of buying new hardware, and leave the upkeep behind
Virtual machines, virtual networks and firewall rules stay just as your team knows them; what changes is who owns the hardware and who runs it. Warranties, spare parts and capacity planning come off your agenda, and your systems run in data centers in Türkiye.
Why now
Every warranty ends the same year
Servers, storage and network gear go out of warranty together. Replacing them means a large upfront investment and a months-long installation project.
One failure away from a standstill
A cooling, power or storage failure can stop the whole organization, and work waits until the spare part arrives.
Routine maintenance fills the day
Patching, backup checks and hardware faults fill the team’s day, and digital projects keep getting postponed.
The disaster plan lives on paper
Backups run, but nobody is sure when a restore was last tested.
What changes
| Today | With Nesnet |
|---|---|
| A hardware refresh is a large upfront investment. | Usage shows up on your monthly invoice; hardware investment and depreciation drop off the agenda. |
| A hardware failure stops work until the part arrives. | If a physical host fails, your virtual servers restart on the remaining hosts. |
| Capacity depends on the purchasing calendar. | Add CPU, memory and disk without waiting for a hardware order. |
| You find out whether restores work during a crisis. | Backup and business continuity are set up from day one, and your team can try a restore from the portal whenever it wants. |
| Branches connect to headquarters separately, on different devices. | Your offices connect straight to your cloud network over Site-to-Site VPN. |
From today to live: how it works
- 1
Inventory
Your servers, applications and the connections between them are mapped, and resource usage is measured.
- 2
Sizing the resource pool
Your dedicated resource pool is sized from measured usage, and the network, firewall and VPN design is written up.
- 3
Pilot migration
A non-critical system moves first and is verified with your team, and downtime is measured.
- 4
Planned cutover
Systems move in groups with an outage plan and a rollback step ready from the start (see Cloud Migration).
- 5
Backup and business continuity
Backup classes and business continuity copies for the migrated systems are defined from day one.

Example scenarios
A manufacturer with a refresh budget on the table
Situation
A budget is being prepared to replace servers and storage, and an ERP upgrade is planned for the same year.
Outcome
No hardware is bought: systems move to Private Cloud, and the ERP upgrade is tried on a separate test copy in the new environment.
An organization with branch offices
Situation
Headquarters and branches use the same applications, and the server room at headquarters is a single point of failure.
Outcome
Applications run in the cloud, and branches connect directly to the cloud network over Site-to-Site VPN.
An IT team that wants to test its disaster plan
Situation
Backups run but a restore has never been tested, and the auditors keep asking about it.
Outcome
Backup and Business Continuity are set up; the team tests restores from the portal and failover with a test start-up whenever it wants.
Questions to ask before you decide
- Will our team have to learn a new platform?
- No. Virtual machines, virtual networks and firewall rules work the same way; your team manages them from the self-service portal. The first migrations are done together with your team.
- How are Windows Server and SQL Server licences provided?
- Windows Server and SQL Server licences are rented monthly from Nesnet. Which server needs which licence is worked out together during the inventory.
- Is it really cheaper than a hardware refresh?
- That depends on your usage, and it is compared in writing after the inventory: upfront hardware, warranty and maintenance side by side with the monthly cloud cost.
- Will the business stop during the move?
- Systems are grouped by downtime tolerance and moved in planned windows. Each group is rehearsed first, and the old system stays on until verification is complete.
- Product: Private CloudWill I face downtime while moving my existing virtualisation environment?
- Migration follows a plan: an inventory comes first, a non-critical system moves as a pilot, and the main cutover happens in a window you choose. Servers can be uploaded as OVA or moved while running with migration tooling. Downtime depends on the size of the system and the route chosen, and the rollback step is written before the cutover.
- Product: Private CloudWill the invoice hold any surprises?
- The invoice is made up of vCPU, memory, NVMe storage, gateways, load balancers, public IPs and internet bandwidth, each on its own line. The number of servers you create inside your quota doesn't change the price on its own; the resources you use do. Nesnet's team prepares the actual figures for your needs.
- Product: BackupWill my server slow down or stop during a backup?
- The server keeps running for the whole backup. There is only a brief pause, from under a second to a few seconds, at the moment the snapshot is taken.
- Product: Business ContinuityCan I see the plan work before a disaster?
- Yes, you can. Copies are brought up in an isolated network for testing without disturbing ongoing replication, and you check that your applications start. When the test ends, the test servers are removed.
- Product: Site-to-Site VPNWill my existing office connections drop while the tunnel is set up?
- The tunnel is added as a new definition on your office device and on the cloud gateway, and your internet connection and other rules stay as they are. Traffic starts using the new path only once the tunnel is up and the allow rule is in place.
